Our History
Community Well-Being Network “CWN” initially Children Well-Being Network, Inc. is the legacy of Dr. Andre Ghattas Karam (February 10, 1926 – May 5, 2009) a PhD in Social Welfare from Columbia University in New York whose life was dedicated to promote the basic human needs of poor children and help improve their living conditions worldwide.
Andre believed in a self-help bottom-up – individual to community, micro to macro – community-based approach allowing heads of households to create sustainable job opportunities and face head on the root causes of poverty.
